My first glimpse of the Nile… (For some reason I had thought I would peer through the papyrus to see barges with ancient Egyptians floating down the Nile, being observed by ancient Egyptian farmers from their fields… My mental image from Encyclopedia Britannica illustrations in elementary school!)

Love your mental picture what the Nile should look like. We took the train I believe to go south from Cairo.
