I shared some peaceful snapshots from my time in Ukraine, which is currently convulsing under terrible tensions and pressures. I will never forget my visit to Kiev’s euromaidan, the site of protests which overthrew the government and instituted a new one. By mid-April, when I visited, it was already a tourist site, filled with people with big cameras, young people taking selfies and entrepreneurs operating makeshift souvenir stands.
