Remains of the day

July 8, 2013

On a beautiful sunny day, we took a trip to see the Roman ruins in the village of Skelani, in the far eastern part of Srebrenica municipality, right on the border with Serbia. First we stopped by the municipium malvesiatium ruins, which are partly exposed. There’s actually an elaborate mosaic under one of these piles of dirt… (The artifacts excavated here found their home in a little rural museum.)

How cool! I love visiting ruins! It just makes me think of all the people who were in those places back in the day!
