Printmaking
I only own one actual objet d’art. It was a print given out by Moreen Vogel, a visiting German printmaker in gallery Duplex 10m2 in Sarajevo, June 2011. Free art! (Each print is not a ‘copy’ or reproduction, but rather an original, as each print varies slightly.) That was my only visit to Duplex in its old location; now it’s 100m2.
The print is an experimental text which records a particular moment in her process of learning the Bosnian language. She wrote the text without any help and left all the spelling and grammar mistakes as a part of her artistic process.
She writes about heroism, poison, dragons, café culture, homeland, peace… It’s a fairy-tale reinterpretation of her culture shock and observations during her stay in Sarajevo in 2011.
I love the delicate, fanciful dragon etching, and the texture of the print-pressed page.
What a great piece of art. I love art with a story!
I loved that she gave out pieces of art during her exhibition! so cool
