An act of thought is an act of art

May 3, 2013

London post #3. I stopped by the Tate Modern as well. My favorite piece was a poetic work, Active Poetry, by Polish artist Ewa Partum.

I’ll be honest with you, I don’t get modern art!

ahhh i don’t either… but i think it’s so beautiful and emotional! the trees here for example– the artist cut away at the layers of the tree to reveal the layer of the tree that was the same age as him. how poetic!

The self-portrait art is cool! Did you see the Lichtenstein exhibit? I saw it here in Chicago last summer. Love his work. I bought a set of postcards with his paintings because I liked it so much!

I didn’t go to the Lichtenstein exhibit! (everyone asked me that haha)– I was running around from the globe to the tate modern to the british museum so I only went to the permanent collections… ah well…
