How to sew on a button

April 10, 2013

I love this shirt. It was a cheap one from New Yorker and the gold buttons are plastic. One cuff button fell off and I lovingly sewed it back on.

[I want these ‘how to’ posts to be a new series on my blog. After my day in the life post, I wanted to create more photos essays. I’ve chosen everyday domestic activities, like sewing on a button. It’s a personal photo challenge for me. As you can see, my ‘how to’s will all be something that you already know and do. No DIY light up headboards or anything like that. My next one will be ‘how to put on an earring’.]

I love how you make sewing on a button look so glamorous! If you wanted to combine this with your self-portrait explorations, maybe we could see you wearing the purple shirt? 🙂

Looking forward to more of the how-to-in-pictures post series… such a great idea!

haha i was thinking about it… like a photo of my wrist at least with the cuff. and then in that moment i was just too lazy to take the photo! 😉

“As you can see, my ‘how to’s will all be something that you already know and do.” — Except I don’t know how to sew on a button, and I refuse to learn how to! Needles give me the heebie-jeebies, and I’d rather move that domestic-task time to the kitchen 🙂

I agree with Sheila– it looks glamorous!
