Walls Project: Bratstvo
January 20, 2013
This virtual graffiti I think actually has the potential to be understood if it were real graffiti. It’s taking the first syllable of Bratunac, “brat” and splitting it into two words on the second syllable– “bratstvo” / “Bratunac”. (Bratstvo means brotherhood and was one of the core values of socialist Yugoslavia.)
Does that come across visually?
Actually I shouldn’t properly call this virtual graffiti, which Wikipedia tells me is “virtual objects applied to public locations, viewable through devices”–maybe “online graffiti”?
Googling all this, I came across: http://www.totalgraffiti.com/ which actually has a cute spray can and makes a shhhhh noise as you create your graffiti! Irresistible.

Yes, it does come across! I like the idea of splitting the word. I wonder if you try connecting some of the letters. Does the blue color have any significance?
connecting some of the letters is a great idea, it never occurred to me! blue doesn’t have any significance, I just like blue 😀
I like blue, but I’m partial to orange… 🙂
